Sieber Board Coach AG | Welcome
approach
“Teaching smart people how to learn” is according to Harvard Professor Chris Argyris a challenge.
People who rarely experience failure, end up not knowing how to deal with it effectively. What makes it worse: once you have climbed to the top, you are likely to be surrounded by people who flatter you which does not increase your self-awareness and your learning.
We need self-awareness to be true to ourselves and we need to look out for honest feedback in order to grow.
Sometimes, we need to leave the arena and look at it from the balcony. I can offer you a balcony view and a safe space to reflect on questions like these:
- How can I handle that situation?
- Where am I going?
- What are my fundamental values?
- What are my strengths?
- What are my blind spots?
- How do I affect others?
Knowing ourselves is crucial but not easy. Who we are is how we lead. Knowing us makes room to sense others and adapt. Small changes in our behavior can hereby have a huge effect on others. Sometimes, our strengths – we are rightly proud of – can stand in our way.
My purpose is to listen to your needs and to support your learning. I am a value-based person and have learned to choose the most important for me: authenticity, courage and integrity. I trust people and I hope you trust me. I am here for you.
"The most difficult thing in life is to know yourself."

I had the pleasure to work with Thomas Sieber for many years. He has a broad range of skills. In particular, I would like to point out his integrity and authenticity. He has the courage to address unpleasant issues combined with great interpersonal skills. He showed those strengths running highly complex and sensitive projects as well developing all people – irrespective of the hierarchy - around him.

Thomas combines skills of a seasoned executive with those of a natural born psychologist, making his contributions always practical, personally curated and tactfully delivered. I’ve seen him managing complex environments with poise and effectiveness, creating a safe space for people to express themselves.

The last 3 years I had the pleasure to work with Thomas as a board member and mentor. He has excelled in providing solutions to complex issues or in helping us founders grow individually as well as a team . Through his vision and personality, he built bridges between people and views and fosters innovation.
Dr. Christoph Samwer CEO FRIDAY, Berlin – a digital insurer
It’s rare that you come across standout talent like Thomas. I had the pleasure of following Thomas for 25 years on how he grew in the various companies he worked in and who he touched many lives and mentored numerous people and inspired them to lead and rise themselves.
I was always in awe of Thomas’s ability to command a room and get people on board with ideas—even people who were initially on completely different pages and find lasting win-win solutions.
As a coach, a board member or a leader, Thomas earns my highest recommendation.
Patrik BruhlmannCEO Pacific Health, Bangkok
Thomas has been an extremely valuable and inspiring sparring partner for me for a long time in relation to the most diverse leadership and board topics. Above all, I appreciate his ability to listen, to question, and to address even the most sensitive issues. I got to know Thomas' perspective on the functioning of boards of directors even better when I was interviewed for his INSEAD thesis "Improving Board Dynamics and Open Dialogue, How Speking Up Could Transform Corporate Board". Here he once again impressively addresses a topic that is given far too little attention in the corporate world, but which is fundamentally important for successful board work. Thomas is definitely a leader, a coach and a board member from the "new world".
